My Summer at Google

My Summer at Google

Role: UX Designer
Tools: Figma
Timeline: Summer 2025

Brief

During my summer at Google, I worked on designing visual examples of accessible interfaces to help guide internal designers in creating more inclusive user experiences. These examples were informed by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and aimed to demonstrate best practices in an intuitive and visually engaging way.

Due to my NDA, I cannot share specific details about the project, but my work focused on ensuring that accessibility principles were seamlessly integrated into the design process.

Approach

To create these examples, I:

  • Researched WCAG standards and their practical application in interface design.
  • Developed visual examples that illustrated key accessibility principles, such as contrast ratios, text readability, and interactive elements.
  • Collaborated with internal teams to ensure alignment with broader design systems and accessibility goals.

Impact & Reflection

This project reinforced the importance of designing not just for usability, but for inclusivity. Working within an industry-leading company’s accessibility framework deepened my understanding of how small design decisions can create a more equitable digital experience for all users. It also strengthened my ability to translate technical guidelines into clear, actionable visual references for designers.
